Adventure At Your Back Door

When you live next to the Blue Mountains National Park the opportunity for an adventure is never far away and that’s how it worked out on Saturday.

We agreed on a bush walk into Cedar creek after our canyoning trip was washed away after more rain over the past 2-3 days.

Just 5 minutes drive from the back door and we are out and walking with the objective of dropping down from “The Neck” into Cedar creek and then out via the Golden Staircase.  It looked easy on the map and then route descriptions from a quick search on the web didn’t provide any info. to the contrary.

Check out the video and see how the day unfolded for us.

Stopping where I never stop!

Last weekend Hugh and I had planned to take on Danae Brook canyon in the Blue Mountains National Park.  Rain  in the mountains area over the later days in the week culminating in thunderstorms on Friday night laid that idea to rest.

Instead I took a lazy drive down the western side of the park, stopping at those places that I’ve always rushed through on the way to some other meeting place.  Hartley Vale, Oberon, Taralga, Wombeyan Caves and Joadja before turning north to return to Sydney.

Here’s a few photos from the day out.
